TPSquared - Faxing Order Acknowledgements
Conceptual Overview
Order Acknowledgements can be faxed directly from a workstation. However, it is dependent on how each workstation is configured and the hardware in place.
In general terms, fax capability is a function of Windows and requires a fax capable modem with an attached outbound phone line at each workstation. There are "Server" based fax products that require only a single modem and phone line attached to one workstation or the server, and all of the workstations within the system can access it.
The physical configuration of the fax hardware is not within the scope of this document.
Within TPSquared, when a document is on the screen, go to the "Totals" tab. A button exists that is titled "e-Mail / Fax". Click this button, then select "Fax" from the next window. The system will create a PDF document and display it on the screen. (Note: You must have a PDF Reader installed on the workstation.) Once the document is displayed in the PDF viewer, select the print function and select the Fax from the list of printers. The Fax software will automatically execute and will ask for the recipient's Name and fax number and generally give you the option of also including a "Cover" page with the transmission.
Note: When TP2 prints a normal document, several copies may be printed based on the system setup. Because most installations use laser printers, each copy is duly noted as "Customer Copy", "Office Copy", etc. When e-Mailing or faxing a document only one copy is transmitted and that copy is marked as "Electronic transmission"
